Mathematical communication ability is one of
the learning competencies that can be achieved through generative learning. One
of the main material in mathematical in high school X.10 which pretty much related to the SPLPtSV
mathematical communication, for it has done the research ability of
mathematical communication in learning material of generativelly in order to
know the description of mathematical communication skill of teachers and
students in generative learning. The study was conducted in SMA Negeri 5
Pekanbaru on the og students of class X with 32 people on the odd semester of
2010. Excavation data through observation with eight meeting and four RPP. In
generative learning conducted pretest and postest, observation and interviews.
The data obtained is tabulated and analyzed descriptive.
The risults showed that the ability of
mathematical communication in learning phase of generative in subject matter
SPLPtSV obtained: at the phase of teacher orientation score 4.00 :
students score 3.87; disclosure of and
idea phase (teacher score 4, students
score 3.87 ; challenges and
restructuring phase (teacher score 3.91, students 3.87); implimentation phase
(teacher score 3.87, students score 4); phase review (teacher score 3.90 and
student score 3.81). Active students in group discussion or class 70.06%
average increas student mathematical communication skill (pretest 1-3; postest
2-5). Phase of the generative learning can motivate learning and studentsí
mathematical communication skill.
